Our Work
We've spent time partnering with Vision Resources of Central PA, providing useful tools for them, helping them to improve their workflow and make tasks easier and more efficient. From this, we look to expand our work to directly improving the lives of those with disabilities and special needs, working with several organizations and making products. Here is some of our work:
Project 01

Screw Fixture (made for Vision Resources of Central PA)
A rectangular block with rectangular indents at an angle and holes within the indents. Before supplying Vision Resources with this screw fixture, employees had to manually screw screws into fixtures - which was slow, painful, and inaccurate. By creating the screw fixture device, we were able to control screwing depth, so it was accurate every time. Additionally, workers could now mount the screw and fixture into the “molds” of the device and use a handheld drill to screw the screws. Now the process was accurate, safe, efficient, and painless.
Project 02
Braille Press (for Vision Resources)
The braille press that Vision Resources uses to put braille on government employee business cards was not working, specifically the rectangular block with the 2x3 “indents”. Therefore, we designed and 3D printed multiple new blocks for them, thus generating revenue for them and saving them money from going to the original manufacturer in Canada for a new, more expensive part.

Project 03
Signature Pads (For Vision Resources)
A simple but effective tool that guides the visually impaired to sign their very best signature for any and every occasion - perfect for any wallet!
Project 04
Reading Machine Guide (For Vision Resources)
To help the blind understand important documents, a reading machine can scan a paper and read the text out loud. A problem arises when the reading machine does not indicate where to put said document. Our product acts as a railing: a physical barrier to let the user know where to put their document up against.

Project 05
Braille Press for Playing Cards
This is a press that allows for braille imprints on playing cards. By imprinting the cards with braille, it allows those who are blind and those with low-vision conditions to enjoy games and tricks involving cards, making the playing cards more accessible for everyone.
Project 06
Common Joint
This project, while not a specific tool for those with low vision, shows the wide range of capabilities of 3D-design. This design of a joint was made for Vision Resources as part of a tool that would indent braille on various products.
